Results for Dioxin (TCDD)

Decreased lymph node cellularity in females esposed to 2.5 μg/kg at 48 weeks of age. Alterations in bone marrow B lymphoid progenitor types in males and females at both exposure groups. Changes in thymic T cell differentiation and splenic B cell and lymph node T cell population distributions in males and females at 5.0 μg/kg. Males exposed to 5.0 μg/kg had increased levels of anti-cardiolipin autoantibodies. At 5.0 μg/kg there were increased INF-γ levels in females and increased IL-10 levels in males.

Subjects: C57BL/6J mice

Chemical: Dioxin (TCDD)

Low doses tested: 2.5 or 5.0 μg/kg bw

Route of administration: dissolved in corn oil and administered by gavage

Exposure duration: gestational day 12 – single dose (comparable to human prenatal development from approximately day 1 of week 5 to day 1 of week 6)

Age of measurement: 48 weeks of age
